About the YEP! Grant
The Continental Societies, Inc.® – Southeastern Howard Laurel Chapter is proud to announce that we are a recipient of the Howard County FY26 Youth Engagement Programming (YEP!) Grant. This grant supports programs that provide meaningful engagement opportunities for young people and families in Howard County, and we are honored to use this support to expand our youth mentorship efforts.
About the Elevate and Empower Youth Program
We are grateful to Howard County for supporting programs that empower youth, strengthen families, and build brighter futures in our community.
The Elevate and Empower Youth Mentorship Program is designed to support students through mentorship, enrichment, and social-emotional development programming. The program will run through June and is available to all Howard County residents, serving numerous students in elementary and middle school. Tutoring sessions will take place at the North Laurel Community Center.
Through structured sessions led by professional vendors and mentors, students will participate in activities that promote confidence, wellness, leadership, and personal growth. This program is made possible through a collaborative partnership with the Black Student Achievement Program (BSAP) of the Howard County Public School System (HCPSS).
Program Activities Include:
Mentorship check-ins and small group discussions
Encouragement and academic/social support
Meditation, mindfulness, and yoga

This program aligns with The Continental Societies, Inc.® Five-Point Programmatic Thrust (H.E.E.R), which focuses on Health, Education, Employment, Recreation, plus Arts & Humanities, ensuring our youth receive well-rounded support and development opportunities.
